Engineers are good innovators but need further development with such things as entrepreneurship and business presentation in order that they reap the benefits that other professionals have developed over the years namely independence/entrepreneurship if we can create products for others then we also can do the same for ourselves in such areas as new product development, Quality asurance/control, Risk Management and value assesment and product valuation, basically we must learn how to create companies and products thru R/D efforts to be self sustaining as well how to market ourselves and our products we develop. I am not saying one should conflict with ethics of companies who have hired them under know-how clauses for R/D and new product development in these cases what ever you ddevelop belongs to the company unless a partnership agreement is reached so engineers should under Valuate the profession or their skills, products/services
